Art Show #4: Clare Mohen’s Characters of Heriot Bay Collection

Our fourth and final art exhibition, celebrating 130 years, honours the late artist Clare Mohen. Clare was a student of Bob Ross and delighted in this style of painting. He painted regularly, always keeping his ideas fresh and his approach lighthearted. There was a playful energy to his work, and he never took the process too seriously.

Clare created The 50 Characters of Heriot Bay Collection, a remarkable series celebrating local personalities. This exhibition features the final 31 portraits, on display in the Fireside Lounge from April 11 to May 3. Join us for the opening night reception on April 18, from 5–7 pm. Enjoy a special wine and individual charcuterie for $20.

In keeping with Clare’s wishes, any individual whose portrait is displayed will be gifted their piece in his honour.

Visitors are invited to take part in a fun challenge—identify the 31 Heriot Bay characters for a chance to win a prize. Pick up an answer sheet, submit your completed ballot, and you’ll be entered to win.
