Wanted: Models to re-enact a 1906 Tug-of-War photo at the Heriot Bay Inn

On April 19, 2026, the community is invited to take part in a living re-creation of historic 1906 tug-of-war photos that once captured the friendly rivalry between miners and loggers on the lawn of the Heriot Bay Inn. To mark the Inn’s 130th anniversary, we’ll be recreating the scene with the help of local photographer Carla Duffy—and we need you!

Participants are encouraged to arrive in 1906-style costume to help bring the scene to life. Whether you’re pulling on the rope or cheering from the sidelines, everyone is welcome to join the fun! Please arrive by 11:30 AM on Heritage Day (April 19)—in costume—and help us make history again!
