Come early to grab a seat as there’s often standing room only. Our kitchen is open until 7pm, so you can grab dinner or a snack before class, and on Tuesdays our featured beer is on special for only $5/glass.

A Deep Dive into Campbell River Search & Rescue

Campbell River Search and Rescue is responsible for all land and inland waterway search and rescue across one of the largest response areas in BC, stretching from Oyster River to Port Hardy, east to Bute Inlet and sections of the mainland coast, and west to Nootka Island. Learn about the group’s regular training and events, specialized skills development, rescue operations, and their work in community education to help people stay safe and well-prepared on outdoor adventures.

Building a Chair from a Log with Hand Tools
Sam Keefer
Sam will discuss how local, value-added woodwork can offer a more sustainable and economically beneficial alternative to current forestry practices. Participants will also be invited to help create a set of bar stools. Sam worked in forestry and woodworking for many years before transitioning to woodworking full-time. His journey began with blacksmithing hand tools and building Windsor chairs from green wood. He has a deep love for forests and is passionate about growing, tending, harvesting, and building with trees.
